Creating an "Update Sales Order" Automation
An Update Sales Order automation is triggered whenever an existing Sales Order is modified in 3PLICITY.
Common events include:
Order status changes
Carrier assignment or updates
Tracking number assignment
Shipping label updates
Other operational changes made during the order fulfillment process
This guide follows the same steps described in the previous guide. Here you can review how to change the target trigger.
Creating the Trigger
From the Zapier dashboard:
Click Create Zap.
Click the Trigger module.
Search for 3PLICITY and select the application.
Under Trigger Event, select Update Order.
Open the Account dropdown.
Select the connected 3PLICITY account you want to use.
If your account has not yet been connected:
Click Connect a New Account.
Sign in using your 3PLICITY credentials.
Click Connect.
Grant permissions if prompted.
Once the account has been selected, click Continue.

Testing the Trigger
Before testing the trigger, make sure you have at least one recently updated Sales Order available. If needed, update an existing order before clicking Test Trigger.
Examples include:
Approving an order
Assigning a carrier
Assigning or updating a tracking number
Updating the shipping label
Changing the order status
Return to Zapier.
Click Test Trigger.
Zapier retrieves the most recently updated Sales Orders.

If multiple records are displayed, select the order you just updated.
If the displayed information does not reflect your latest changes, click Find New Records to retrieve the newest version of the order.
Once the correct record is displayed, click Continue with Selected Record.
Configuring the Action
Select the application that will receive the update.
Examples include:
Slack
Gmail
Microsoft Excel
Google Sheets
HubSpot
Thousands of other supported applications
For this example:
Select Slack.
Choose Send Direct Message as the Action Event.
Connect your Slack account if necessary.
Click Continue.
Mapping Sales Order Information
Zapier allows you to include information from the updated Sales Order in your notification or workflow.
For each configurable field, click the + icon to insert dynamic values.
Common fields include:
Order ID
Order Number
Customer Name
Current Status
Carrier
Tracking Number
Shipping Address
Merchant Name
You can combine dynamic values with custom text to create personalized notifications.
Once the desired fields have been configured, click Continue.
Testing the Action
Review the action configuration.
Click Test Step.
Zapier sends a test notification using the selected Sales Order.
Verify that the notification or action has been completed successfully.
If everything looks correct, click Publish.
Your automation is now active.
Every time a Sales Order is updated in 3PLICITY, Zapier will automatically execute the configured workflow.
Managing Your Connection
Your Zapier connection remains available from Settings > Zapier within 3PLICITY.
From this section, you can verify that your account is connected and continue managing your automations directly from Zapier.
