Manually Adjust Inventory as a 3PL
Overview
The Inventory Adjustments module in 3PLICITY allows 3PL Companies to manually update product inventory quantities when physical stock counts differ from the quantities currently registered in the system.
Adjustments are commonly used for:
Inventory recounts
Damaged product corrections
Missing inventory reconciliation
Warehouse stock corrections
Operational stock updates
Returned inventory updates
Every adjustment generates an audit record containing:
Previous quantity
Updated quantity
Quantity difference
Adjustment reason
Warehouse information
User who performed the adjustment
Timestamp of the action
All adjustments are visible to both the 3PL Company and the linked Merchant.
Accessing the Inventory Adjustments Section
Navigate to Adjustments
Log in using valid 3PL Company credentials.
Open the left-side navigation panel.
Click Available Stock.
Select Adjustments from the submenu.
The Adjustments screen displays the inventory adjustment history for all products managed by the 3PL.
Understanding the Adjustments Screen
Adjustments Table
The Adjustments page contains a table with all recorded inventory modifications.
Available Columns
The table includes:
Product
Old Qty
New Qty
Change
Reason
Date
Each entry represents a completed inventory adjustment.
Product Information
The Product column displays the product name associated with the adjustment.
Quantity Information
Old Qty
Displays the quantity before the adjustment was made.
New Qty
Displays the updated quantity after the adjustment.
Change
Displays the quantity difference between the old and new inventory values.
Examples:
Positive values indicate stock increases
Negative values indicate stock decreases
Reason Tracking
The Reason column displays the explanation provided by the 3PL user during the adjustment process.
This helps maintain operational traceability and inventory audit history.
Date Tracking
The Date column displays when the adjustment was created.
Searching, Filtering, and Sorting Adjustments
Search Adjustments
The Adjustments screen includes a search bar that allows users to quickly locate inventory modifications.
Users can search by:
Product name
SKU
Reason
Adjustment information
Filter Adjustments
Each applicable table column includes filtering options that allow users to narrow down results based on operational needs.
Examples include:
Product filtering
Date filtering
Quantity filtering
Sort Adjustment Data
Users can sort table data by clicking column headers.
Sorting helps organize adjustment history by:
Product
Quantity changes
Dates
Reasons
Creating a Manual Inventory Adjustment
Open the Adjustment Modal
Navigate to Available Stock > Adjustments.
Click Create Adjustment located in the top-right section of the page.
The adjustment creation modal opens.
Understanding the Adjustment Form
Product Selection
Product Dropdown
The Product dropdown displays all available inventory items registered in the system.
To Select a Product
Click the Product dropdown.
Select the desired product from the list.
The selected product becomes associated with the adjustment.
Warehouse Selection
Warehouse Dropdown
The Warehouse dropdown displays all available warehouses registered for the 3PL account.
If only one warehouse exists, it may appear automatically as the default option.
To Select a Warehouse
Click the Warehouse dropdown.
Select the desired warehouse.
The inventory adjustment will apply to the selected warehouse location.
New Quantity Field
The New Quantity field defines the updated stock amount for the selected product.
To Enter a New Quantity
Click the New Quantity field.
Enter the desired inventory amount.
Only numerical values are accepted.
The system automatically calculates the quantity difference between the previous quantity and the updated quantity.
Reason Field
The Reason field is used to document why the inventory adjustment is being performed.
Common Adjustment Reasons
Examples include:
Inventory recount
Damaged products
Missing inventory
Returned stock
Warehouse correction
Manual stock reconciliation
To Add a Reason
Click the Reason field.
Enter the operational explanation for the adjustment.
Providing detailed reasons helps maintain inventory traceability and audit accuracy.
Completing the Adjustment
Create the Adjustment
After all required fields are completed:
Click Create.
The system processes the inventory adjustment and returns to the Adjustments table.
A confirmation notification appears indicating the adjustment was created successfully.
Reviewing Adjustment Records
New Adjustment Entry
After creation, the new adjustment appears in the table.
The entry includes:
Product name
Previous quantity
Updated quantity
Quantity difference
Adjustment reason
Date created
Viewing Adjustment Details
Open an Adjustment Record
To review a specific adjustment:
Click any adjustment entry from the table.
The Adjustment Details screen opens.

Quantities Card
The Quantities section displays:
Old Quantity
New Quantity
Quantity Change
This section provides a clear comparison between the previous and updated inventory levels.
Product Card
The Product section displays:
Product name
SKU
Product ID
This information identifies the exact inventory item affected by the adjustment.
Warehouse Card
The Warehouse section displays:
Warehouse name
Warehouse ID
This confirms where the inventory modification occurred.
Reason & Audit Card
The Reason & Audit section includes:
Adjustment reason
Creation date
Time stamp
User email responsible for the adjustment
This section provides complete audit visibility for operational tracking and accountability.
Adjusting Inventory from Total Products
Access Adjustment Actions from Inventory
3PL users can also create inventory adjustments directly from the Total Products section.
To Adjust Inventory from Total Products
Navigate to Available Stock > Total Products.
Locate the desired product.
Use the adjustment or edit action available in the product row.
The adjustment modal opens and follows the same inventory adjustment workflow.
Verifying Updated Inventory Quantities
Review Updated Inventory as a 3PL
After performing an adjustment:
Navigate to Available Stock > Total Products.
Use the Merchant filter if necessary.
Select the Merchant associated with the updated inventory.
The inventory tables update automatically with the adjusted quantities.
Total Available Inventory
The Total Available table displays:
Product names
Total available quantities
Updated quantities reflect the latest inventory adjustment values.
Warehouse Inventory Totals
The Warehouse table displays:
Available quantity by warehouse
Warehouse quantities also reflect the updated inventory values after the adjustment is completed.
Merchant Visibility of Inventory Adjustments
Merchant Access to Adjustment History
Linked Merchants can review inventory adjustments performed by the 3PL Company.
To Review Adjustments as a Merchant
Log in as the Merchant user.
Navigate to Available Stock > Adjustments.
The Merchant can view:
Product adjustments
Previous quantities
Updated quantities
Quantity changes
Adjustment reasons
Adjustment dates
Merchant Adjustment Details
Merchants can open any adjustment entry to review detailed operational information, including:
Product details
Warehouse information
Quantity updates
Audit history
Adjustment reason
Adjustment timestamps
This visibility helps maintain transparency between the 3PL Company and the Merchant regarding inventory operations.
