Creating an "Inventory Adjustments" Notification
The Inventory Adjustments trigger allows Merchant users to receive automatic notifications whenever inventory is adjusted by their 3PL company.
This automation helps merchants stay informed about inventory changes without continuously monitoring the platform.
Examples of inventory updates include:
- Manual inventory adjustments
- Quantity corrections
- Receiving adjustments
- Inventory reconciliation
- Other stock updates performed by the 3PL
Selecting the Trigger
From the Zapier dashboard:
- Click Create Zap.
- Click the Trigger box.
- Search for 3PLICITY.
- Select 3PLICITY as the Trigger application.
Under Trigger Event, select:
Update Inventory

Selecting Your 3PLICITY Account
Open the Account dropdown.
Select the connected Merchant account you want to use.
If your account is not yet connected:
- Click Connect a New Account.
- Sign in using your 3PLICITY Merchant credentials.
- Click Connect.
- Return to the Zap and click Continue.
Testing the Trigger
Before testing the trigger, make sure you have at least one recent inventory adjustment available in your Merchant account.
If necessary, ask your 3PL provider to perform an inventory adjustment or use a recently completed adjustment for testing.
After the inventory adjustment has been completed:
- Return to Zapier.
- Click Test Trigger.
Zapier retrieves the most recent inventory adjustment records associated with your Merchant account.
Select the desired record.
If the expected adjustment is not displayed, click Find New Records to refresh the available records.
Once the correct adjustment appears, click Continue with Selected Record.

Configuring the Action
Choose the application that should receive the notification.
Examples include:
- Gmail
- Outlook
- Slack
- Microsoft Teams
- Google Sheets
- Microsoft Excel
- HubSpot
- Thousands of other supported applications
For this example:
- Select Slack.
- Choose Send Direct Message.
- Connect your Slack account if necessary.
- Click Continue.
Mapping Inventory Information
Use the + button next to each configurable field to insert information from the inventory adjustment.
Available fields may include:
- Product Name
- SKU
- Previous Quantity
- Updated Quantity
- Quantity Difference
- Warehouse
- Adjustment Reason
- Updated Date
You can combine dynamic values with your own custom text to create personalized notifications.
For example:
Inventory for {{Product Name}} has been updated from {{Previous Quantity}} to {{Updated Quantity}}.
Or:
Inventory adjustment completed for {{Product Name}}. Current available quantity: {{Updated Quantity}}.
After configuring the desired fields, click Continue.

Testing the Action
Review the action configuration.
Click Test Step.
Zapier sends a test notification using the selected inventory adjustment.
Verify that the notification is received correctly in the selected application.
If everything looks correct, click Publish.
Your automation is now active.
Whenever your 3PL company performs an inventory adjustment that affects your account, Zapier will automatically trigger the configured workflow.
Managing Your Connection
Your Zapier connection remains available from Settings → Zapier in your Merchant account.
From there, you can verify that your account is connected and continue managing your automations directly from Zapier.
